The Center for Experimental Research and Performance (CENFEX) was founded in 2025 to explore and develop the intersection of art, the body and the uncharted frontiers of emerging subcultures, ideologies, and upcoming geopolitical and technological realities. CENFEX is searching for a modern understanding of the new ways we relate to ourselves and each other, through investigations that span all artistic disciplines and forms of interaction, often approaching this form of research through bodily and interpersonal experimentation.

We seek to foster a decentralized community of like-minded individuals in the Chicago area and beyond, via intentionally offline collaborations centered around forgotten and undigitized media, installations, performance, debate and discussion. We seek to build this community of dedicated individuals, often strangers at first, in order to use human connection as a medium of its own, and to see what can be built with this as the foundation. CENFEX is looking for any and all proposals to further this field of study.
